Two links that may be helpful in increasing traffic to your articles.

The ways to stay on top of making an income with writing is by increasing traffic to your article as we all know, however; sometimes no matter what you do it still doesn’t work. This can be very frustrating especially if you know you have written a killer article! I personally have come to a standpoint looking for what I am doing wrong so I began doing some research. It seems to me that in order to truly increase traffic to your articles you have to know what type of articles people want, what they are searching for online.

So how do you do that you may ask. Well on my journey in trying to find out what people were searching for I kept coming up with the top search lists for 2008 giving me numerous subjects and topics and their top 10 lists and although, I could add them to this article I will not because they are completely irrelevant, writers need to stay on top, they need to know what people are searching for now, not the most searched in 2008. I have come across 2 links that are very helpful in finding out:

Google Zeitgeist reveals what the top searches are by week, month, and year. This one was very difficult to find because even though it is by Zeitgeist, all I kept coming up with was their 2008 list. What it really is it is called is Google hot trends.

Google Zeitgeist Hot trends

Yahoo Buzz index goes has in-depth coverage of the most popular searches, including a “Today’s Top Movers” category. With buzz, top searches are broken down into categories actors, movies, sports, etc. which is constantly updated to the right of the top search chart or at the bottom of the screen.

Yahoo Buzz

There was another by MSN called MSN Search Insider which was supposed to show the top 200 search queries on MSN Search in random order, top movers in Music, TV and Sports. Though the website states that the data is updated weekly they don’t even have it in working order any longer and have apparently abandoned it which is too bad because it was supposed to be the best made.

I hope this article will be helpful to everyone.

Thanks. I read your article Saving the Innocents. I liked it but couldn’t comment on it so I do it here. You have a nice plot; I wish I could think imaginatively just like you do. With respect to web traffic, my experience taught me that things that money-related topics appear to be most read. But I like writing regardless of traffic expectations. So I write whenever I’m moved to do so.
