Many people are of the opinion that a good keyword is one that gets searched for a lot without having a lot of competition. But just getting a lot of searches make no sense in terms of a good keyword. Take for example searching with keyword “money”; it will not tell anything about what it is and what one is really looking for. As for competition part, it is better to use a keyword that gets a limited but with no competing sites rather than hundreds of thousands searches with millions of competing sites. In brief, a good keyword should be one that you know exactly what the potential consumer is looking for. For instance, if a person is searching about how to get out of debt, the perfect keyword/phrase could be “How to get out of debt”.
