My Own Tips for Writing Reviews at Reviewstream

Some thoughts in writing reviews for RS:

1. Look around you and see what’s in your living room, kitchen, bedroom, bathroom and even your desk;.

2. Even your tool room is worth looking into as you can find tools and accessories which are worth reviewing or your garage for the car, the compressor, the car wax or shampoo, the hose, tyres. It’s about everything – hospitals, medicines, banks, services, toys, clothes, travel, airlines, phones, websites, computers and so on;

3. Have your manuals with you in case you need to mention technical specifications. It’s also easier to quote the model rather than turning your stereo upside down or looking  inside your refrigerator to see the capacity, for example;

4. Be sure to mention how you made use of the product and what you liked and disliked about it. Your feelings are at the core of your reviews; Make sure that it’s about you using the product and not somebody else;

5. Prices are important if only to mention that you found it expensive and not worth it or cheap but you get more out of it;

6. In reviewing, take note of the performance of the product, quality, overall value and ease of use;

7. Be honest  and put a personal touch to your reviews;

8. Check your grammar, punctuations, spelling and the sense of your reviews; keep a copy of your reviews and index it as a personal reference (or if you need to resubmit);

9. Try to go always for the regular rate except books, movies and food; accept bulk rate when rejected; continue to write even when rejected outright;

10. Don’t forget to hit the SEND button and have lots of patience while waiting for the approval. In the meantime, check your table of contents to see what you have reviewed already and jot down ideas for your next reviews. When you reach your  —th  payout, you’re in for a surprise; I won’t mention that here

as it’s an incentive to keep on reviewing.

  1. Those are some very good pointers!
    (I have written for them myself, so I know the value of this review of yours. : ))

    It’s funny – and amazing – how many people have asked me, “but what do I write about, what can I review…?!”

    “Duh” is MY usual answer. : -)
    But reading this review would probably be a much better option for them. ;)

    Thank you Helle for your comment. I hope others will find it useful as well. I actually structure my reviews based on my pointers.
