Creating a website can be fun, easy and rewarding once you decide a few key things. First you’ll need to decide are you going to build a personal website or a business website ? If you want to create the website yourself then there are basically 5 things that you’ll need to do and they are :
1.) Select and purchase your domain name.
2.) Select and get your hosting account setup.
3.) Assign your new domain name server (dns) address(es) to your domain name.
4.) Download a file transfer protocol software program (if it’s not included with your website development software) to upload your files from your computer to your website.
5.) Install, learn and use a website software development program to create your website.
If you just want to create a personal website, then you can use any of the free website builders available like Free Website Builder which is a down loadable application that comes complete with video tutorials that teach you exactly how to create your website using it’s “what you see is what you get”(wysiwyg) editor or you could use a online application like www.wix.com or www.weebly.com. which does not require you to purchase anything else.
If you want to create a business website to make money with, you’ll also need to decide if you want to learn the details of domain name selection, website hosting, website design and creation, search engine optimization, content creation and sales and marketing or if you want to mainly focus on running your online business ?
If you are going to create your website yourself you can do that by following the following five steps
1.) you will need to choose a domain name for your website – The two things that you want to focus on here are
- making sure that your domain name is descriptive of your website business, so if you’re selling ten dollar t-shirts you might want to get a domain name like indian-education.com
- the second thing is that if you want to get free targeted traffic to your website through the major search engines, then you’ll want to make sure that you use relevant key words ( words that online users use to search for things).
2.) The second thing that you’ll need is a web host. Hosting is very important, it’s what makes your website available to everyone 24hrs a day 7 days a week. If you imagine your domain name as your house, then your hosting is the land that your house will sit on, and because the land is not free you will need to pay rent monthly to the hosting company. This amount usually runs between $3.95 per mo to about $10.00 per mo.
3.) Once you’ve setup your hosting account, you will receive the addresses for your domain name servers (dns) which you will need to update at your domain name account (where you purchased your domain name). Once that has been completed, then your domain name (website address) will be available for you to upload your website.
4.) If you are going to be using a website development software package that does not include built-in file publishing then you’ll need to get a ftp program to handle uploading your files and images to your website.
5.) Now your ready to To actually create your website. You’ll need to get a website development (html) program to use to create your website with. If you’re just starting out, this is where the learning curve comes into play. So just remember to be patient, and realistic with your expectations and you will be able to create a online website that will work for you.

How does having a web site differ from a blog?
Thanks for sharing this article I really liked it!!!
Hello everyone,
I would like to tell you about free web hosting service I use now.
Register here: http://www.000webhost.com/357106.html
They give 1500 MB of disk space and 100 GB data transfer. I am now using them for about 3 months and never seen any downtime of server problems. There is no any kind of advertising on my pages too, so I think its worth to signup.
