Search Engines

You know you are supposed to get your website, your writing, your blog, listed with search engines. You’ve heard that you can submit your site yourself, but where?

You’ve heard of Google, and Yahoo, they’re search engines.  If you need to find something you go there, type in some keywords and then press the search button.  In return you get page after page of websites that might have the information you are looking for.

Why isn’t your website there?  How does one get listed to show up in people’s searches?

Well if you have a popular website, and lots of people are reading you, and linking back to your pages, and Digging you, Stumbling you, and so, the search engines will find you themselves.

But what if you’re a nobody?

Well there are companies out there that will submit you to several search engines, for a fee course.

But can’t I do it myself?

Sure.  If you know where to look.  I’m sure you’ve looked for yourself.  Not easy to find are they?  That’s why I’ve done the work for you.

I must warn you, not all these search engines may be right for you.  And they all have submission rules, make sure you follow them.  Read the “Terms of Service.  Read the “How to Submit”.  On some you can just submit, for example, your Triond feed URL.  On others, you will need to submit, again for example, your Triond user Profile page URL.  It is up to you to comply with their rules.

Some may charge a fee to list you.

Some will require you to disable Adblock in order not to get an error page when looking at their site.

Some will require you to confirm by email.

I must also warn you that if you do not follow the rules they lay down, or submit inappropriately there may be consequences that will follow you and your websites in the future.  You’ve been warned.

I have tested each of these links before publication and they all work, if you get an error page the problem is with your browser.

Here’s the list:

All of these are slow loading pages, and may not load on the first try.

That’s it for now, and I have barely scratched the surface.  The hard work is up to you.

I’ve been looking for some new search engines other than google/ask/yahoo/bing for day-to-day research so this has helped in several ways. Thanks
