How to submit xml sitemap for blogger blog in google as easily as possible.
THIS ARTICLE IS WRITTEN ON SEPTEMBER 14 2009
I am a blogger. Started to blog quite a while back when I did not even know what I was doing. Now around the year I have grown in experience and learned lots of stuff that can help one become a successful blogger. So I have decided to share my experience with every one.
Whether its a blog or website or anything in Internet; it is completely useless if nobody visits it. Getting visitors is skill that only very few people have. Most of the people never gets visitors because they don’t know the small tricks that make big difference. Submitting a site map is one of those simple trick.
You know what google is right?? Its a search engine. It INDEXES your blog in its index and then provides search result to mass traffic that are looking for what you post. Or this is what many of us think. Google will not come to you automatically and index your blog. You need to act first and give them a site map that contains everything about your site. That way they will index you properly and bring you traffic.
Submitting xml site map of your blog to google is very easy and free. Just simply follow this steps:
1. To submit your site map you will need Google Webmaster Tool. Its free to register so you should create an account as soon as possible.
2. Once you have registered go to “Dashboard” and click on “Add a site”. There enter the URL of your blog and press continue. (see Picture 1)
3. Then you will need to verify your blog. There are two methods; Meta Tag and HTML file. You need to chose Meta tag. Copy the Meta Tag provided but don’t press verify button yet. (see Picture 2)

4. Then go to blogger.com and select your blog which you registered. Go to “Layout” section of the blog and then to “Edit HTML”. (see Picture 3)
5. Save a backup of your template if you want to. After that paste the Meta Tag right after first you find in a new line in the template and hit the save button. (see Picture 4)
6. Go back to google webmaster tool and press the verify button to verify your blog. You blog will be verified then but not indexed. You need to submit a site map for that.
7. In the registered blog account click on “Submit a Site map”. (see Picture 5)
8. Press on “Submit a site map” again on the new window. A pop-up box will appear where you must type “rss.xml”. This will allow your blog feed to act as a site map. As a result every time a new post is made google will be notified about it. (see Picture 6)
Wait for few days (generally 2-3 weeks) before you first index by google. Afterwards if you regularly post then they will index you more frequently and you will appear in search result more.
Its very simple once you get the hang of it. Anyways, please let me know your thoughts by leaving a comment. Thank You.
