Website: Review Stream
I stumbled upon Review Stream when I was Google searching ways for me to earn money through writing reviews. I was skeptical at first, because it seemed too good to be true, but I figured, since I had a PayPal account, which is how you are paid, I should at least try to see if I can get one review accepted, it would be too much of a waste of my time, I started writing and my first review didn’t get accepted, but I didn’t give up so I resubmitted it, it still didn’t get accepted, but I kept trying and eventually, I began having my reviews published on Review Stream.
Seven months later and over $150 later, I’m still writing for Review Stream. The site does pay, and if you think it’s a scam because your reviews were rejected here are some tips for having your reviews published there:
1. Try to write at least 300 words. 300 words is their minimum word count for reviews submitted to them and if your review is too short, it will be rejected.
2. It needs to be made up of mostly your opinion. Since they really want your opinion of what you’re writing about, reviews will be rejected if they’re too vague. If they are rejected, just write more of your opinion of the item you’re reviewing and it should be accepted.
3. Not all reviews are accepted at the full rate. Bulk rate usually applies to books, movies, videogames and items that cost less to buy. Full payouts are usually given to travel reviews or cosmetics and higher end electronics. Full rate is usually paid if the review is longer, such as 400-500 words reviews are more likely to receive the full rate instead of the bulk rate of
4. Bulk rate is your friend. You are more likely to receive payment for reviews if you accept the bulk rate than the full rate, unless your review is sure to receive full rate, accept the bulk rate.
5. This is the most important rule: Do not publish your reviews that you wrote for Review Stream on another site, if you do you will be banned from Review Stream. I had a problem where the site wrongfully banned my account after they said I reviewed an Apple iPad on another site (Which I do not own and could not afford anyway) even though I didn’t. I was able to tell them that I had never submitted a review for something I didn’t own and they restored my account but do not post your reviews for Review Stream on any site, even your own blog, just link your reviews on your site.
6. Spell check yourself. Correct spelling and grammar are definitely necessary to having your review published on Review Stream and it’s a good idea to spell check your review before publishing it. Also make sure to save a copy of your review just in case it is rejected so you can rewrite it and resubmit it..
Overall, Review Stream does pay out and if you want some extra money, you can get it with Review Stream, while some people think it’s a complete waste of time, having that extra $50.00 in your PayPal account is very nice, especially in the bad economy. I highly recommend the site because you can review almost anything and get paid. Just make sure you’re careful about following their rules, and you’ll get some extra money in your PayPal for all your writing. If you want more proof you can see my most recent payment from them here, you might have to zoom in to see more details though.
Due to the fact that they have been buying lower quality reviews, their full rate went down from $2.50 to $1.50. But the payout rate has decreased from $50 to $30 to accommodate the lower rates. It’s a good thing or a bad thing, depending on how you look at it.
