Who says finding jobs in the internet is easy?
People all over the world are searching every second of everyday for internet work, online jobs, home-based jobs, medical and English transcription jobs at home, freelance article writing jobs, proofreading and editing jobs and so on. Search engines are buzzing with the sound of eagerness and excitement as people from all walks of life, with different aspirations, dreams and hopes are busy browsing over each opportunities available on the World Wide Web.
There are so many online jobs available, jobs that somehow matches what one is looking for. But how legitimate are they? This is just the question everyone looking for online work has been asking themselves every once in a while.
I have been searching for online work for quite a while now. I have read so much on PTC and MLM and realized too late that I have wasted enough time pouring myself over them. I have joined some and lost some money and time over those MLM and PTC sites. Many have claimed success over such endeavors, but I just know it wasn’t for me.
So I turned my focus on finding legitimate online jobs. But first, I had to evaluate my skills. I can type fast, I can speak and write English fluently, I love writing and reading, and am quite acquainted with medical terms. With these in mind I searched the Web for anything relating to medical transcription, blogging, article writing and proofreading. To my surprise, there are thousands of opportunities for these out there.
This got me very excited. By just reading through all the information everyday on such topics, I found that it would take time to find what is right for you. So every single day, I read and apply to jobs that I think I could do well. I have joined article writing sites, applied for some transcription jobs and at the same time started my own personal blog about my kids.
There are just so many conflicting views about online jobs. Some people have become so very successful in it and are doing their best to help others through their blogs. I found the following blogs very helpful during my search for work-at-home jobs:
For Medical Transcription:
Occupational Outlook Handbook, 2008-09 Edition
Work at Home Transcription Jobs
Writing Jobs:
Work at Home and Online Job Opportunities
The Freelance Writing Jobs Network
Blogging Online:
I have learned so much from them, and they are such a great help to job hunters like me. They have somehow made the search a little bit easier and a little bit faster. These are the people who continue to spark the excitement in my heart, that something out there in the realm of the world wide web is the right job waiting for me.
But contrary to such successful people online, are the moans and complaints of those who have been scammed by employers, not being paid on time, and those who until now haven’t found anything for their efforts yet. These people are real and their frustrations match what I sometimes feel in my search for online jobs. They have taught me to be cautious, and alert for those opportunities that are masked in gold but gives nothing in return. This has taught me to attach the word ’scam’ to every website or opportunity that I find somehow promising.
True that there are conflicting opinions regarding some legitimate online jobs and companies providing such jobs. But in the long run, it has become easier to distinguish which ones are real. It also pays to follow one’s instinct in some job search.
Luckily, I landed two part time transcription jobs. The pay depends greatly on one’s efforts and productivity. It is not much but it’s a start. And any start is good. Any amount of money that comes in is still money in my pocket.
I have also joined writing sites to showcase my love for writing. Aside from publishing your articles and poetry online, I get to meet a whole lot of writers willing to share their online experiences and give a few pointers that made them earn some extra money from their writings. These wonderful sites are highly recommended: Triond and Factoidz.
I now continue to tread on the world wide web searching for opportunities, browsing, stopping to read and learn, applying what I learn from my own experience and through other people’s experiences, and always moving forward, always looking forward to making it a success in this complex but exciting world of the Internet.

Very true. Many people will be able to relate to this story.
Thanks Sonya for reading my blog.
indeed, we all have our share of challenges in the internet business. Just enjoy it, you’ll be able to find your niche, too.
Thanks. I’m quite enjoying myself at triond.
