Let’s compare the two titans of file-hosting. Which is going to win?
When talking about file-hosting the first site that comes to our mind is www.rapidshare.com. It’s alexa ranking is 12. That’s really amazing but is it really the best file-hosting service? Let’s compare www.rapidshare.com with www.easy-share.com.
Free Users
The majority of people downloading files from those file-hosting sites are free users. There are certain limitations for free users though. Let’s compare them:
Rapidshare: Free users can’t download 2 files simultaneously.
Easy-Share: Free users can’t download 2 files simultaneously.
So they share the same policy about simultaneous downloading.
Rapidshare: Free users can download at speed of 60 kb per second.
Easy-Share: Free users can download at full speed (I have a 8mbit connection and download with 850kb per second.)
So Rapidshare 0-1 Easy-Share
Rapidshare: Free users can download 100mb per hour.
Easy-Share: Free users can download 150mb per hour.
Rapidshare 0-2 Easy-Share
Rapidshare: Free users can download 200 mb parts.
Easy-Share: Free users can download 100 mb parts.
Rapidshare 1-2 Easy-Share
Rapidshare: Free users have to wait to download files.
Easy-Share: Same here
Rapidshare: Free users earn points when someone downloads their file. They get 1 point per download, but the file has to be over 1mb. They have changed this rule and you earn a random amount of points which can’t exceed 256 per day!
Easy-Share: Free users earn from 0.1 to 2 points when someone downloads their file. The points you earn depends on the downloader’s country. Most countries will give you 2 points! There is no limit with the file’s size, so if someone downloads you 5kb file you will get points!
Rapidshare 1-3 Easy-Share
Rapidshare: Free users become premium users for 1 month when they exchange 10.000 points.
Easy-Share: Free users become premium users for 1 month when they exchange 10.350 points.
With Easy-Share you earn double points so with 5000 downloads you can “buy” a premium account!
Rapidshare 1-4 Easy-Share
Rapidshare: 1 year premium account costs 54.99 Euros (you get 12.000 points too)
Easy-Share: 1 year premium account costs 53.05 Euros.
Its about the same so there is no change in score!
Premium Users
Rapidshare: Premium users can download up to 2.66GB per day (can use trafficshare for more downloading but its limited)
Easy-Share: Premium users can download unlimited amounts of GBs per day.
Rapidshare 1-5 Easy-Share
Rapidshare: Premium users can upload up to 4GB files (parts).
Easy-Share: Premium users can upload up to 100mb files (parts).
Rapidshare 2-5 Easy-Share
Rapidshare: Premium users can exchange their points with prizes or extend their premium account.
Easy-Share: Premium users can exchange their points with cash or extend their premium account.
Rapidshare prizes are cool but you have to exchange huge amounts of points to get them. For example in order to get a camera you have to exchange 150000. In order to earn those points you will have to wait years and that camera doesn’t deserve those points! Easy-share gives money and I think that’s better!
Final Score : Rapidshare 2-6 Easy-Share
Conclusion: Even though Rapidshare.com is more famous than Easy-Share, it seems that Easy-Share is far better than Rapidshare!

I always use Rapidshare, it seems to be better because I can download really fast from there, instead of the other sites, like EasyShare, Megaupload, etc.

in order to really become popular, easy-share needs a search feature or a forum where people can post their uploads for others to share. look at http://www.rapidfind.org/ for an example. i will try easyshare for sure, but i love being able to search for what i need.

It’s simple. You get a link. For example.
After that you click on the free download button. In the next page you type the captcha and click download and you download the file!

but u should also write that rapidshare is more famous, that makes it really really easy to find rapidshare links for games, programms etc….. and this counts

all about easy-share has been done due to make people register on them.. but once they ll have enough users, the rules will change.. (as rapidshare did many times) so.. thats just for comersial reasons!

though rapidshare is more famous, easyshare have a better download speed….. for me easy-share is great.. keep up.

It knows: auto download, auto rename files, auto change IP, auto retry download, skip already downloaded files, etc.

Try http://ineedfile.com to look for rapidshare files. I using it regularly and allways satisfied with the results
It’s redesigned now and looks much more beter. More than 7 000 000 files in their database.
They offer search toolbars for FF and IE. They also offer search bar for your site.Enjoy.

but u don’t think easy-share gives money to u for downloads …. it always calulates traffic ……
if it doesn’t reach min quality …
u are not eligible to trasfer mny from easy-share to paypal………..
it will be better to go for other hosting site…..
