WordPress is one of the content management systems usually used for blog publishing. This popular blog publishing application is powered by MySQL and PHP. Wordpress 3.0 is the thirteenth significant release of WordPress. It is named as ‘Thelonious’. It is the result of work done by 218 contributors for half a year. This latest version gives users many new features for easy publishing.
In this article, I describe 5 features of WordPress 3.0
1. New default theme: Twenty Ten
Wordpress 3.0 introduces a new default theme called Twenty Ten. Another notable thing is that, from this year onwards there will be a new theme every year.
2. Use your own username
In the earlier version, when you install WordPress, you will be assigned ‘admin’. You will also get a randomly produced password. In the new version, you can change username and password according to your wish.
3. Custom post types
In the earlier version, you can create two types of contents namely post and pages. Now, by using version 3.0 you can generate your own custom pages using attributes.
4. Menu Management
It is one of the most discussed feature of version 3.0 which allows you full control over your site.
5. Wordpress MU + Wordpress.org
Wordpress.org and WordPress MU merged their code bases. By this, Wordpress MU can use the other without hacking.

Wow… really? You posted this lame article to DesignFloat just to leech traffic, didn’t you?
