If you feel like your get-up-and-go, has got up and gone, then a little reminder that life is worth living may come in handy.
Life in the fast lane can take its toll. More and more people are turning to daily helpings of positivity in the form of blogs to give them inspiration to face the day.
Steve Pavlina is probably the most famous blogger on personal development, but there are also many other sites out there that offer valuable insights on a number of topics from personal relationships to dealing with finances.
The following list is 10 of the best motivational sites/blogs to give you food for thought and help you create a life you want to live.
Sometimes all you need is a quote to pick you up. This site offers a new quote everyday and also provides some informative, inspiring news titbit from around the world.
A really good blog to sink your teeth into. Leo is the author of the blog and he writes extensively on minimalist living – but before you think, “oh no, I don”t want to deprive myself’, I can assure you it is nothing like that. Living with a minimalist outlook just means putting a little thought into your daily life.
Money, money, money – on all of our minds. This site has many posts explaining many different aspects of managing money. None of the concepts are complicated, my favourite was the Pocket Change Cookie jar, and everyone can make some change to their debt level by implementing some of the ideas on this blog. As the author says – “everyone needs cents and sense”.
For anyone interested in starting a blog and making money from it, this site provides practical advice. Inspiring.
Still on the topic of money, this blog gives a personal account from the author on mistakes he has made and how he has come back from them. The “Get Rich Slowly” name may be out of sync with the current zeitgeist of making money as quickly as possible but the concepts discussed here are sound and place financial prosperity in the hands of everyone.
A comprehensive site that doesn’t just post information on dieting but looks at all aspects of eating healthily and living well. Occasionally a controversial post appears such as the 18 month old who is only fed French Fries, and regular readers of the blog discuss and debate frequently. Easy blog to navigate.
Penelope Trunk gives no holds barred advice on how to develop your career, but goes further to examine the wider context of work and your life. This is no preachy site and she is very honest about “failures” in her own life such as her divorce. Her writing is easy to get into and many people sign up to her RSS feeds. Her blog has been so successful that she has brought out a book.
A very professional looking site with posts on everything from how to cut your credit card debt to avoiding work conflicts. This site is no-nonsense but gets the personal touch just right.
This site has lots of topics to choose from if you’re interested about self-improvement. Choose to read about motivation, productivity, psychology, money, health or education amongst other well researched topics.
With great pictures and strong articles, this site delivers positivity we can all use. I particularly love the Hemmingway quotes on the blog. Very thought-out and well constructed.
