I am a blogger, I am not a guru of any seo techniques like the other people say they are. I advertise my blog and promote my articles in free and simple ways that I can to increase my readership or drive traffic to it. I don’t have a blog that has insane traffic like the others do but I have a blog that I take care of because I love writing than monetizing it. Like I’ve said, there are ways to advertise your blog without giving your credit card cvv to any online scammers on the internet. And even if these simple ways are free to do, these are still worth a try.

Here are my five simple and free ways to attract visitors in my blog:

1. I follow other blogs and comment on their post. Yes, I find time checking other blogs, read their updated post and see to it that I will give my honest opinion about his/her post. Visiting other blogs with sincerity brings you a good karma afterwards. You will notice that other bloggers will find time to visit your blog as well and leave a comment on your post. Until you notice that your network of friends starting to multiply and your blog readership is increasing.

2. I post articles that are interesting. And make sure that I did not copy other bloggers’ content. I see to it that the topic I post is relevant, consistent and specific. Let’s say if your blog is about Blogging, create a post that is focus to blogging. Don’t jump to a topic that is not relevant to the main theme of your blog. These can increase the numbers of your visitors that came from searching a keyword in popular search engine like google or yahoo. 3. I place a chatboad in my blog, this chatboard serves as my easy access or connection to my blog neighborhood. I use shoutmix.com for a better chatboard. Saying little ” hi and hello ” in the chatboard can bring you 2 to  10 visitors a day to your blog.

4. I find time to share my blog post to my twitter friends and facebook friends and ask them to share my blog post to their network of friends. Sharing your blog post using these social networking sites is so powerful to the point that it can increase your readership double than you expect it. I add a addtoany.com widget for easy sharing capability. This will also be more effective if you have more followers. Increase your twitter followers using buzzom.com and make it a habit to add friends daily in facebook.

5. I join forums and build rapport to the forum community. I find time to post topics there relevant to my blog. I post interesting topics to create a good impression that my blog is something interesting to read and link to. I will direct the forum readers to my blog by creating my forum member signature. This signature will contain a link to my blog and when click by a forum reader , he or she will be directed to my blog. This signature is place below your every post in the forum . There are lot of forums in the internet, choose forums that has a high number of community that will be interested to your content.

Five ways that are very simple to follow and will not require you any techniques to drive traffic on your blog. I am doing this up to by now and I can say that it really helps a lot. How about you?
