  58. Al Says:

“Free” is good. I love “free”. I dl “free” all the time…but as a semi-pro musician and aspiring pro artist, I wonder if the thing everyone loves is going to self-destruct. Who can afford to be a musician w/o income from it. Certainly noone “hungry” or “alternative”. But I guess as long as gigs pay at least something, not to mention being a blast (mostly), there’ll always be someone to do the donkey-work. I put forth for your consideration- “free” music will contribute to the disparity in incomes, further cement the concept (and reality) of the “lucky 4%” in a way, and just generally evolve into a system of some working for free while others get “goods” for free. That’s called communism. But I don’t think sharing is theft, either. Discuss. Or don’t. I have a gig. Later. ps…musicians deserve income, too.

  59. TS Says:

While I always love something for free, I have found it quite amazing how many musicians are happy to see music sell for free – if it weren’t for music royalties how on earth would any musician ever make a decent living?

  60. Ben Says:

Get Utorrent (a lightweight torrent client utility) set up your client for encrypted connections only, get a good anti-virus (mcafee AOS enterprise perhaps) update it, and get your vista/xp updates (macs suck, use linux), get hijackthis, ccleaner, and adaware, stop unneeded services in your computer (Services.msc … there are tons, google them), and use scrapetorrent.com for whatever music/software you need.

Hint: Read for comments on torrents for viruses and fakes. Also, take into account Seeders (people actively sharing the file) and leechers (you… and me).
