Nine humorous websites with a straightforward answer.
These particular nine sites are a simple yes/no response to a specific question, pertaining a particular event. Most of them are actually funny. Others are simply informative.
Some of the creators of these websites have programmed them in order to display an accurate answer, at an accurate moment in time, for any visitor. They are also vacant of any content other than this answer statement.
1. Is it 2010 yet?
This first website tells you if the year 2010 has arrived yet. Just Yes or No: simple! There is also an analogous website available online about the year 2009.
2. Has Barack Obama won the election yet?
3. Is Obama president of the USA yet?
A pair of other informative, direct websites: the second one is updated from time to time as to display some additional information. Barack Obama II is currently the president-elect of the USA, and also the first African American to be elected President of the United States of America.
4. Is it Christmas already?
If you wish to know weather Christmas is upon us, consult this link. It’s another example of an up-to-date site.
5. http://hasthelargehadroncolliderdestroyedtheworldyet.com/
6. Has the LHC destroyed the world yet?
These two links pertain to the Large Hadron Collider built by the CERN (European Organization for Nuclear Research, situated on the Franco-Swiss border) and to the possibility of it generating a stable black hole that would destroy the Earth. This claim is ridiculous, since such probability would be of about 0.0000000000000000000000001% (According to the Cosmic Variance blog). Still, these websites respond to the question as a joke. I recommend reading the last bit of source code of the first one, which is truly funny.
7. Is it lunchtime yet?
This seventh link gives you a yes or no accurate answer to the question “Is it lunchtime yet?”. So, is it time to eat already? One way to know is visiting this link.
8. Is Chinese Democracy out yet?
This website was built to tell Guns N’Roses fans if Chinese Democracy is out yet. It gives, like previous sites, a straight yes/no answer with precision. Chinese Democracyis an album by American hard rock band Guns N’Roses, which was formed in Los Angeles in 1985 and has gone through numerous controversies since their formation. On 19/06/2008, nine tracks of the album were leaked online, being removed afterwards.
9. Is Steve Jobs dead yet?
Lastly, this particular website is pretty straightforward. Steve Jobs is the current CEO of Apple Inc., a company known for products such as Macintosh computers, the iPod and the iPhone. This is mainly a joke site, as many people support competitor companies, although on 14/01/2009 Jobs did announce a six-month leave of absence until the end of June to allow him to better focus on his health.
