A short review on this website and the artists’ amazing artwork.
I found this website while googling for manga, all it is is one man’s artwork on an ongoing manga book that he created. I’m not sure on the characters but i think that they are meant to represent himself under his alias Piro and his happy-go-lucky friend Largo.
Piro and Largo are two americans who somehow get stuck in Japan, and the rest of the story is about them trying to adjust to life in Japan. Largo is the cool american who likes to blow things up, get into trouble and then leave the mess to be cleaned up by others. He’s also pretty handy with computers but he doesn’t speak a word of Japanese so it’s up to Piro to try and take care of him.
Piro is the more level-headed guy and he’s the one who tries to keep Largo out of trouble. As with most mangas it does somehow revolve around Piro’s love life and how he’s never had a girlfriend until he meets a pretty girl in Japan called Nanasawa. They meet by chance at the train station and he gives her his ticket and they somehow manage to meet each other again and again.
As with any manga, these guys get into lots of trouble and of course there are tons misunderstandings and things manage to get blown up and mayhem just seems to follow them around. I enjoy this online website because you can see from the very beginning of the series how the artist has managed to keep changing his style and how he always seems to be improving more and more with each new comic strip he puts out. Another good thing about this website is that you can read it for FREE on www.megatokyo.com. Happy reading!!
