Microsoft product Encarta Encyclopedia will soon be disposed.
If you are often trying to search for your answers of Internet you are likely to hit through the resources of Wikipedia most of the time.
Microsoft recently confirmed about closing down the sales and its product Encarta Encyclopedia. When Encarta was launched many people had raised their eyebrows stating that this on-line resource for the people will make the hard copies and books published meaningless. Encarta had all the features about gathering information one can think of. You can look at the videos and audios of your topic as well as if you have the desktop software of encyclopedia installed you can still link to Internet and allow the software to gather information from the Internet.
But the current situation is that, the users taste and styles of search is growing more towards Wikipedia encyclopedia. Wikipedia is rich in its resource topics and styles as well the new updates and news. The way people use to search through articles and access their topic is now best suited with Wikipedia giving a strong competition to all other similar services and products.
Microsoft has declared to close down Encarta in June, 2009 while Wikipedia will still be there to rule Internet till it hits with same competition.

Interesting article. One wonders when, if ever, Wikipedia will be made redundant. Darwinian evolution on the internet, lol!
