A open question why quite a lot of people using TinyURL.

I just wonder why many of you using TinyURL?

Can somebody explain it to me?

I think I am a bit eccentric, I didn’t think much of this idea, I don’t like it. Except that they claim this tinylink will not break in email postings and never expires, I want to know more reasons why we should use it.

When I see a tinyurl, I always wonder what the link would drive me to, as I can’t see whether the link is safe or not by seeing its url.

My computer was once hijacked by trojan horse after I clicked a link inside an email from one of my friend.

After this experience, I become aware of the safety of visiting different sites on the Internet.

I am just afraid that the link will drive me to a website that many windows will pop up, and some crazy redirect links inside.

I know there is also a chance that the sites, the orginal links driving me to, sometimes will do the same thing (pop up and redirecting, etc).

I still fancy the old long URLs! At least, I know where it comes from, and the most important is I will click it!!

How many of you do think of similar things?

We post articles in Triond here, and I trust Triond will filter out the articles for us, it is safe and can be trusted here.

Where are we going now? Do you really care? Although you know a bit of information from its topics, is it really that case? Please share!

Now I am ashamed to say I do not fully understand all of this which is why I am probably an accident waiting to happen with my pc.

    I don’t use TinyUrl.

I use Ping.fm which is already setup with my login details for Twitter, etc and adds its own shortened url. The ones on Trions articles are much too long for most purposes.

Sorry, I wish I knew how to create those fancy links. I depend on Triond to do it for me. Any where you see me post you will find the long old fashioned url and hopefully it functions. lol
