As a contributor on the internet, I devote much time and effort to make each and every article I submit a good one to ensure that the viewers will have an optimum enjoyment and of course to gain large views in order to have a better earning.

I had been contributing and earning from the internet for more than a year now. I have gained new friends and have learned more since then. It feels great to see that your articles are doing well especially when they landed on the “Hot Content List” because that will mean a bigger earning on your part aside from the fact that you have contributed something worthy or entertaining in the internet world.

But how would you feel if you found out that your article/s had been stolen and posted on another site without your by-lines? Are you going to get angry or mad? Or you’ll just sit down and do nothing?

To find out if your article had been stolen – simply copy/paste the title of your article in your tool bar and browse the net. Some websites seem to be an automatic site that copies content around the internet and makes money from Google ads. So if your article/s had been stolen and posted somewhere out there and looks like there is no one to “talk to” over there, there are two measures you can take as the author of the original article. It is imperative that you take these measurements as you are the author of the article. Since Google does not like these kinds of websites, you can use the following methods to report the site to Google:

Image via Wikipedia

Method 1:

  1. Enter the infringing website and find your copied article
  2. Click on “ads by Google” under the Google ads
  3. On the following page, click on “Send Google your thoughts on the site or the ads you just saw”
  4. Click on “Also report a violation?”
  5. Check “the website”
  6. Check “The site is hosting/distributing my copyrighted content”
  7. Add the link to the original article on Articlesbase.com and any additional information

Method 2:

For the second method you will need to have a Google account for it.

  1. Enter the following URL: https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/spamreport?sourceid=aso&subid=ww-en-et-asblog_2009-02-23&medium=link&pli=1
  2. Fill the required fields
  3. Mark both Duplicate Site or Pages and Other
  4. Specify the issue and enter the link to your original article at articlesbase.com

I would like to acknowledge Bukisa Support Team for providing me these methods to get rid of those unscrupulous people. Don’t let those evil persons earn money from your work. Report them immediately by simply following these easy methods.

Thank you! Happy writing and reading to all!

But why link to articlesbase.com? That’s an index site where its well known that if you post content there it will be duplicated. The caveat of course is that third party ezines etc also replicate your links. When I use article marketing, I don’t care if they change my author name or ‘leave out the bylines’, all i want to see are new, active, incoming links.

Thanks for this article. I found that a girl put one of my poems on her MySpace page and said, “This is a poem I found on the Internet.” She thought it was okay to just post my poem without putting my name on it. I didn’t mind so much, as long as she gave me the credit. I know there are worse sites out there where they steal your articles. Thanks for the great information!

    Nobert,
These are great methods to use to make sure thieves can’t take credit for your work. People that do this sort of thing should be banned from submitting anything to the internet and print publishing. Several years back, Joan Jett recorded Black Velvet, and because she had stolen the song, She has not made any records since. It is my belief she has been blackballed from the music industry. I will definitely refer to these methods if ever I see any of my own material under anyone else’s name.
Excellent article Nobert. Keep up the great work! buddy!!!!

I’ve always been worried something like this would happen to me. Last night, I actually discovered someone plagiarizing someone else’s article. Even though the article wasn’t mine, it was still disturbing and it renewed my worry it could happen to me.

So, thanks for posting this! That makes me feel better to know that there’s something I can do about it.
