What Do You Think of Free Domains?

Most people do prefer to have their own “.com” domain. Although, not everyone can afford one. So, would you want a free domain even if it wasn’t “.com?”.

I have talked with some people lately and was interested in their opinion of what they thought of free domains.  So, I figured I would make a post about it and open up the discussion with the entire community.  I honestly believe that nothing can replace a “.com” domain and I know that a lot of people would agree with me here.  Although, not everyone can afford one because they do obviously cost money.  I do have a domain now that I bought after procrastinating for a while on the issue.  If you want to check it out, it’s http://socialtechzone.com

I have decided though to assist those who would like to get a free domain.  Now, it does look weird with the domain not ending with “.com.”  Although, I searched a lot on the internet for other free domains and the one I am going to share is the best one I came across.

You can get your own free domain here with free DNS as well: http://www.co.cc/?id=165555

Setting up a free domain is fairly simple, but if you need some assistance with it, here’s a tutorial: http://youtube.com/user/giantsfan92

I’m sure some people reading this are saying to themselves, “I would rather pay for a domain before using a free one.”  That’s fine, but you have to take into consideration that everyone can’t afford one.  For those of you who would like a “.com” domain, I haven’t forgot about you.  Most likely those who have websites or blogs already have a domain, but if there are some of you that would like get a “.com” domain for a cheap price that I got mine,  leave a comment below and I’ll be sure to get in contact with you.

Free is always better than paying if it works on the internet.

Most domains that are free aren’t really free. What you get is a service hosted on that domain. See sites like chi.mp.
