It’s Monday again, and here’s another installment of SlackerDan’s list of URLs to help you avoid work.
And yet another week has passed and it’s time to give you some fun links geared to lower your workplace productivity. Feel free to send a link to this list to your friends and family; hopefully they’ll slack off too. And if we get enough people not slaving away at jobs because of this list, society itself will descend into anarchy! Cool. Anyways, here’s the list:
Laser Game
Nothing more fun than lasers; well, okay, maybe there is, but you’ll enjoy this game anyhow. You have to solve several puzzles by utilizing lasers and tools such as mirrors, refractors, splitters, and double mirrors to affect the laser’s path to turn on lightbulbs. Challenging!
DVICE
Want to keep updated about the latest tech gadget? Well, check out DVICE. Their saying is “tech is our obsession”, and I can’t argue with that. Updated often, the geek in you will squeal with glee at the various gadgets DVICE reviews. Try not to squeal too loud, though.
Duck Hunt
Remember the classic game Duck Hunt for the Nintendo Entertainment System? If so, you’ll enjoy this stroll down video nostaglia. Great game, but I always hate it when the dog laughs at me.
Triviaplaza
Nothing makes the day go by faster than some fun trivia quizzes. And this site is loaded with “em! All sorts of categories like literature, computer, and music quizzes.
Wanderlust
Bring out the explorer in you by reading up on famous expeditions at this website. Outstanding graphical interface showing you various historical expeditions. There”s some very interesting travel routes; in the words of this website, “…from Magellan to Keroac.”
Letters to God
Have a laugh or two at this long list of children’s letters to God. Kids sure do say the darndest thing, as the old saying goes. One letter: “Dear God: are you invisible, or is that just a trick – Lucy”. Heh.
Unnecessary Knowledge
Ah, more trivia. This website spews out a random fact everytime you click refresh on your web browser. Did you know there are more pigs in Denmark than humans? Well, now you know.
50 Incredible Movie Posters From Poland
Here’s a website that is interesting. Check out all the Polish movie posters of some very popular movies like “Apocalypse Now”, “Raging Bull”, and “The Fly”. There’s some great artwork here, some better I dare say of North American movie posters.
The Zoom Quilt
Now this is one interesting website, a virtual quilt you can zoom in… and zoom in… and keep zooming as the quilt artwork changes. And what artwork it is – very surreal as you move into the quilt.
Why Kubrick Used “Daisy” for Hal’s Death
And in the fine tradition of the posting a video on “Websites to Waste Your Week”, here’s a fascinating look into why the film director Stanley Kubrick had the computer Hal sing “Daisy” as it was being shutdown:
Ol’ SlackerDan hopes you enjoyed this week’s issue, see you next week!
