Welcome to another issue of Websites to Waste Your Week! There’s always been a sort of gratification for a good listing of URL’s to explore, so here are ten work-avoiding links in this seventh issue:

Castaway

A small, quick game where you are a castaway on a deserted island. Playing this game will take you back to the nostalgic days of the 70’s and 80’s when text-based games were all the rage. Will you be able to escape the island? Who knows, but it’s better than working.

Deliver Me from Swedish Furniture

Ever wonder what your name would be if you were Swedish furniture? Now you can find out with this fun and easy website. It even had a name for me, ol’ SlackerDan! Check it out:

Good to know I’m a table. Although, truth be told, I would’ve preferred being a bookcase. Ah well, Swedish tables are very important, you know.

Blue Flash: Homemade Roller Coaster

Now this is really cool: an innovative guy gets sick and tired of waiting in line for rollercoaster rides, so he builds his own in his backyard! Lots of pictures to see here of the Blue Flash, with people riding it happily. There’s quite the lively debate taking place in the comments section, too. All-around a good article to read at work.

Merrily Fanciful

Webcomic time! I enjoy weird and twisted comics, and I think you’ll find Merrily Fanciful chock full o’ dark, sometimes slightly offensive webcomic strips. You’ll find most of the content in their archives.

Picture for Sad Children

Speaking of webcomics, here’s Pictures for Sad Children, another twisted and bizarre strip. Simplistic artwork, but still very funny. I like seeing successful comic websites where the art is mostly made up of stick figure people, because that’s all I can draw myself dammit.

Apple Shooter

Now here’s one sick yet grim funny Flash game. You’re an archer trying to hit the apple off your friend’s head. The more apples you hit, the more the distance increases. The highest level I’ve done is about four, I imagine you can do better.

Camhacker

Enjoy looking at cams? Here’s a great site with literally hundreds if not thousands of webcams from all around the world. All of them seem safe for work, with cams looking out for beaches or streets, etc. A very extensive list of world-wide webcams!

Cat and Girl

A great webcomic about, well, a cat and a girl. But not your usual cat and girl, of course. This website has a long archive of comic strips, perfect for killing a few hours before quitting time at your job.

Cubicle Freakout

Lots of screaming in this one so you may want to turn down the volume; unless, of course, you want to make people in the office think you’re having a nervous breakdown. The point of this game (there’s a point?) is to throw all the stuff around your office and then heave the computer monitor out the window. Fun to fantasize about, even better as a game on the web.

Kitten Afraid of Remote Control Mouse
