In celebration of its 10th anniversary, The Makati Science Vision instituted its latest breakthrough in the application of information and communication technology in campus journalism by launching its own domain and website.

Hosted by page.ph and designed by Aldrich Ransleigh Mojares Hui, The Makati Science Vision immediate past web editor, the website was constructed to provide netizens an online access to old and newly published news, sports, literary, feature, opinion, science and health, and developmental communication articles of The Makati Science Vision over the past few years.

“The website will serve as a quantum leap for The Makati Science Vision. It is another achievement for us aside from the numerous rewards that it has received,” said Mr Alixander Haban Escote, The Makati Science Vision adviser.

The website features a comprehensive history of the school paper in Story to Tell, Lesson to Teach, Glory to Celebrate, which was written by Don Michael Acelar De Leon, The Makati Science Vision former editor in chief.

The website also boasts the more than 100 awards of The Makati Science Vision in the group and the individual contests in the divisional, regional, and national levels.

Aside from latest news and views, the website also contains archives of past issues, lists of editorial staff, and the online versions of Mr Escote’s The Makati Science Vision Manual of Style and Usage and the Spark of Hope: The Makati Science Vision Anthology of Student Essays.

“The role of school paper as the voice of students still holds true to this day. And the website is a good witness of it,” said John Edward Dominique Dela Paz Dalida, The Makati Science Vision immediate past editor in chief.

A three-time finalist in the Catholic Mass Media Awards, The Makati Science Vision was adjudged the Best School Paper of the Year in the National Schools Press Conference (NSPC) in 2004, Fifth Best School Paper in the NSPC in 2005 and in 2008. It has produced four Teodoro Valencia Outstanding Campus Journalists in the National Capital Region.

Mr Escote was recognized as Outstanding School Paper Adviser in the Philippines in 2007 and Best School Paper Adviser in the Philippines in 2008, in 2005, and in 2004.
