The forums here on Triond are a complete mess. And because of that I am going to take my time off the forums and hope it calms down.
Back in June I published an article that briefly went over the forums:

For now 8 months (actually 8 months on the dot) I have been here at Triond slaving over my keyboard. The forums always came to me as sort of a break from school/swim etc. I was not a hardcore forumer like some members but I would log in almost every day and make a few posts here and there, I never made a close friendships with people there but looking back I wish I did.
The Types of People
The forums these days are complete and udder rubbish. There is cyber sex going down and many people worshiping God in the most obnoxious way. There are also people who think they are Ms. Goodie Goodie and acts like a mother telling us what we can say and what we cannot (foul language, disrespecting). There are people who walk around with their chins held high like they are the greatest show on Earth.
But for a bad there is always a good. These people help work(ed) tirelessly to attempt to make the forum a place like Triond intended the forum to be like and that is a place where people help one another out. An example of this would be the user Fegger who put together 3 threads to help on poetry, creative writing, and articles. Mnofdictonomy is someone I looked up to from the start, he created Anthology I, II, and III and makes the forum better. Duff D Moss also does the every other week Writing Challenge which I will still take apart in, that is probably the only thing even on the writing topic in the forums.
For now though I am out of the forums. I will continue to write just not go onto the forums. I may sound like a little kid (…littlekid137 :/) and complaining but I just wanted to go out and say what I think.

littlekid, you are a very correct in you assessment of the triond forum.. i will also agree there is good there as well as bad. i think that if the forum would return to the way it originally was the forum would definately be a better place.. at least return to the way the veterans that were here when it started said it used to be..

I think your correct friend the forum is a den of vulgar sexual perverts. There are some who trully mean well but there are those who have ran newbees away.

That’s the right approach dude. When the forum gets a bit mental, just pull back for a while. I am so very glad to hear that you will still visit the writing challenge. Good on ya dude

You are correct. The forum is a very out of control and nasty place. I’m dissapointed in me for allowing myself to stoop to their level on many occassions. I plan to not participate in anymore stupid arguments which are a big waste of my time. I can’t make any promises though because it’s hard for me to tolerate the disrespect that gets thrown at me. With all due respect to the forums, I do think it is a categorical waste of time.
I did notice a LOT of cybersex going on which really put me of it. I’m not going to name and shame them but to be honest, if you have an internet relationship or think it is funny to pretend to have an internet relationship, keep it out of Triond, please. I mean I saw these two people (which really turned me off the forums), spamming the entire forum with lovey dovey threads and I was like ‘Jeez, do they have a life?!’ It looks fake and not at all grown up. And it pisses me off SO BAD!
But yeah, I do agree there are a lot of positives, especially helping out newcomers, Duff’s writing challenge etc is all about honing those creative skills but I must say, I think there are loads more negatives than there are positives.
