The Fave It widget offers distinct advantages. . .10 of them!
Online writers are familiar with article widgets and many use them to broadcast their articles. But of all the article widgets I’ve encountered, the Fave It article widget gets top marks. Why?
I’ve mentioned previously that I’m a fan of bookmarking services that also include article thumbnails. When you bookmark using these services, you have the option of selecting a picture from your article. And it should be obvious why this is a good idea. (I find myself repeatedly drawn to article descriptions that include pictures.)
Now, while article widgets help readers to spot your articles, the Fave It widget goes one better.
The Fave It Article Widget
You can install the Fave It widget on your pages and your articles will display with pictures! Imagine visiting a blog and seeing a widget with attractive pictures enticing you to click on the article descriptions? The pictures naturally draw your eyes to the widget.
Why You Should be Using the Fave It Widget for Your Articles
Even better, the Fave It Widget allows you to include 10 article descriptions with thumbnails. Wow! Just think about this: you write 10 articles and you use pictures in those 10 articles. 10 article thumbnails point to 10 article descriptions.
Most writers want readers to see their latest articles from the different sites they submit to but this necessitates installing a number of article widgets. With the Fave It widget, however, you simply bookmark10 articles from any number of sites and these magically appear in the widget. Flexible or what!
Finding the Fave It Article Widget
Where do you find the Fave It widget? You’ll need to register at Faves.com. You scroll to the bottom of the page where you’ll find the fourth heading: Tools and APIs; underneath, you’ll see “widgets.” Click on that and then customize your widget settings.
Creating Your Fave It Article Widget
Choose What to Show
- Check the box to include your Faves
- Check the box to include a thumbnail image, profile image, and “show note”
- Select 10 Faves to display in your widget
- Determine the length of the description/note (it’s probably better to make this somewhat shorter if you choose all 10 article notes to display)
Choose a Theme
- Click on a widget icon to choose a color for your widget. You should choose something that is eye-grabbing.
Installing the Fave It Article Widget
Once you’ve completed the steps above, simply grab the HTML code that appears in the box underneath and copy/paste it into your pages.
Your newly installed Fave It Widget will now display 10 article descriptions with 10 thumbnails, culled from any site you write for.
Many bloggers find their blogs get cluttered with too many widgets. Using the Fave It widget just may be a solution. You can eliminate some of those other widgets and use this all-in-one widget.
Recap: The Fave It article widget allows use of thumbnail images, you include up to 10 article descriptions, and you can bookmarking articles from multiple sites.

Nice tips, but I feel overwhelmed by it all. When you need a manual to work your phone, something is wrong!
Good job (I’m just an old fart ready to go back to analog dial up!).

Hi PR,
Clay: ha, ha, I know what you mean. I sometimes long for the old days when things just had simple dials–and no manuals that take an hour to navigate through!!

Excellent, I didn’t know about that widget before. I’m definitely going to replace my 4 or 5 widgets with that one.

Hi Susan,
Yes, simply bookmark the articles I want to highlight at Fave It and they show up in the widget.

I am a little with Clay on this but just looked at the widget and may well give it a go. Thanks for the heads up!
