There are many different ways to go about this, include ones which I’ve tried, and they actually work quite well. One of the ways is to do it yourself. Go to a couple good websites or blogs that have comment areas, enter in your name, email address, domain link and a comment. The one problem with this is a lot of blogs have the “nofollow” tag which means your link won’t show up when search engines spider the page.
A lot of people seem to be under the assumption that directories are either the only way to get traffic and a better PR (page tank) or that it’s the best way to get traffic and a better page rank. In my opinion, this isn’t exactly right. Then again I suppose it isn’t exactly wrong either. In my opinion, back links are the God of all! You get great page rank plus you get a chance to get indexed by Google and the likes, plus you get actual people going to your sites. In my eyes backlinks are the best and easiest way to go.

Go to a couple good websites or blogs that have comment areas, enter in your name, email address, domain link and a comment. The one problem with this is a lot of blogs have the “nofollow” tag which means your link won’t show up when search engines spider the page. This is completely the opposite of what you want! The other way is to use software, I actually like this far better because most software programs that do back links offer the ability to check or uncheck nofollow blogs and sites. They also offer some other cool things like “auto fill-in” which, when you go to the site of your choice, it will fill in your name, email address, and link automatically at the push of a button.
I’ve tried two software programs in particular that %100 free to use. These aren’t trial offers, these programs are free forever. I really enjoy both of these for different reasons.
Comment Kahuna allows you to choose nofollow or follow blogs, plus it also allows you the option to choose which sites you would like to show up, page rank wise. For instance say you only want the big dogs to show up PR8+ (there’s 1-10, 10 being the best), then all the sites that have a comment area and are PR8+ will show up. Most people don’t really care about this kind of stuff though. They don’t care if their link is shown on PR1 or PR10 they just want their sites out there. But for the people that are picky, this is a good program for you.
Real Link Finder was one of the first programs I ever chose to try out, simply because I heard everyone talking about it and wanted to see if I could get people to my site by trying this back linking technique out. I have to say, it’s an ingenious piece of software. Its simple, straight to the point, does what you want it to. And in the first day of doing 100 back links to my site, received several comments on my site and in emails from the authors of the sites. It was very refreshing and nice to do ONE day’s work, wake up and find 50 or so comments in my blog, and in my email. This just goes to show that these programs WILL bring traffic to your site.
Page rank is a different story. It doesn’t work quite as fast as the “views” but it does work. People swear by back links, saying that it’s THE way to get your page rank up. After all that’s what page rank is about, spreading your link all across the Internet! Of course there’s also other things you should be doing when trying to promote your site, such as optimization, other forms of marketing, if you have a blog or a website where you write out posts, it’s a fantastic idea to write unique and fresh content as much as you possibly can. Think about 5-10 posts PER day.
Also if you’re looking to make some extra money online and have one of the many fine back linking programs, you can also offer a service and charge people to do back links for them. You could make an extra few bucks doing something like this, I know because I do it!
