This guide is for those who don’t know what to do with their downloaded .rar files.

If you’ve read my other article about How to put DS games in your R4, then I’ve already told you about the .rar file problem. RAR files are have the NDS rom or any other rom you have in them. You just need to extract it. For this, you’ll need an .rar file extractor device of some sort, such as Winrar. You can type in Winrar into Google and download the free trial. Once you’re finished dowloading Winrar, you can now start downloading NDS roms from any site.
If you download a file from where you usually download DS roms, and you find that it doesn’t say .nds at the end with .rar instead, you’ve run into the situation where you have to use Winrar. It should look like a pile of three books if you downloaded Winrar correctly. Do not double click it. Instead, right click on the icon and there should be some options with the same book icon next to them. Clicking on “Extract files here” is recommended. Another window should pop up and you should just hit enter. Wait until the extraction is complete, and you should get a new folder in wherever you saved the .rar file. You can now delete the .rar file and open the folder. There you should find your NDS rom, ready to be placed into your R4.
Happy Playing! If you have further questions, please comment and I will answer as best as I could.
