How to remove blemishes from your photos using Picnik.com’s photo editor.
If you’ve ever wondered how people who you know do not have flawless faces can take pictures that make them look flawless? If so, I’m here to educate you. They used a very simple editing process called blemish removal, and Picnik.com offers this.
This is the photo we will be starting with:

I have taken the photo and highlighted the blemishes we will be removing.

In order to remove the blemishes upload your photo to picnik.com.
Under the create tab there is a section labeled touch up. You will find the blemish removal tool in the touch up section.
It will look like this:
You will then see a hollowed out dot appear on your photo, this is your brush. You can change your brush size by using the slider you see above.
You want the hollowed out dot to be the size of your blemish you are removing.
Click on the blemish and watch picnik do it’s magic.
After removing the blemishes from the photo above this is what it looks like:

Notice that the blemishes are removed, however I’m not completely satisfied with the picture and am also going to use the airbrush feature to get these results:

The airbrush editor just smooths the picture out more, and gets rid of a little more of the redness. However airbrush is a premium feature.
I hoped you enjoyed this tutorial. Please be on the lookout for more to come! Also feel free to ask questions, and if you have specific editing requests feel free to voice those as well.

Hey just came across your tutorial. I am attempting to you the airbrush or blemish tool on a logo that I unfortunately had to take a screen shot of from the internet. I am simply trying to use the eraser tool like I can do in paint and erase the noisy area around the text.
Whenever I click on the photo….it just does nothing. What am I missing? I really dont want to export to paint, but I guess I’ll have to try.
Please help!!!

Beth,
In order to remove something more significant you can use the clone tool. Unfortunately there is not an eraser tool like the one on paint. You can either clone the blemish out or use the blemish fix. Sometimes you can use a mixture of both. I hope this helped
