Luring of internet search for short-term or long-term money lenders and charging a fee.
I am really tired of companies that prey on innocent people and people that really need help, I know because I am one of them. Recently I was searching on line for help in getting financial assistance, I will not, cannot, nor will I ever borrow money from my family or friends, sorry just won’t happen. Anyway as I was looking I came across a website that claimed to help -so I filled out the application and low and behold I got an….email, that said “Should we close your web page for you, because you have not yet paid our search fee?. The problem I have with this particular (lender referral company) is that they claim to be Christian based and offer a quality service (nope not free) is that because they do the search, then hit you up for money (if you say yes)? Chances are the loan company turns them down so now their credit is damaged even further, they have less money then did before, most likely charged again for an administrative fee, for a loan they can’t, but for those that say yes and pay the fee this company makes money, and since they only provide a “referral service” they cannot be held accountable for loans that are denied, but can take full credit for those that are approved.
What did they do? They found lenders matching my profile (of what little info that had about me), and in one blazing minute found 10 lenders of whom eight would loan me 25,000 dollars and the other two 10,000 dollars. Oh yeah and they do say in their disclaimer, we are here to help, but we cannot make any guarantees that your loan will be approved. Never a word on a “finder’s fee”, I should have gone with my instinct and did the search myself. Google or Ask.com will get you the exact same results and whole lot more to choose from. In my eyes, and in my opinion, a very clever scam and one to be extremely cautious about, what they do may be legitimate , however you look at it, they are preying on the consumer, the unknowing, and the desperation of others seeking help. Watch for websites that use phrases “Christian” or “giving”, and other such luring word, do your research, it is a real tragedy that a tool so wonderful and powerful as the internet had been used so often now to take advantage of others -be careful what you look for and use extreme caution on your internet adventures.
Keep your eyes open, your mind sharp, and may the world give you what you deserve.
