Your friend just told you she’s been talking to a ‘boy’ on a chatroom and he’s asked her to meet him after only talking to her for a few hours last night, claiming he fell instantly in love with her. What do you do?

1. Try and stop her. She doesn’t know who this ‘boy’ is or even if he is a ‘boy’.. He could be a 30 year old man. Explain to her the dangers of what she is intending on doing and explain that she isn’t being safe nor wise.
2. If she’s defiant, advise her to take someone with her. There’s less chance of something happening if theres two of them, and its less scary than going alone, there’s someone there to tell the story if anything happens so that hopefully the problem can be resolved before its too late.
3. Tell a trusted adult. What your friend is doing is crazy, if not utter lunacy. She is meeting a total stranger, who she has no proof of who he is, how old he is, where he’s from, what he does nor nothing. Yes your friend might think your trying to ‘ruin her life’ but truth is you could be saving it, and chances are an adult will be able to stop her whereas you alone probably can’t.
