Neopets Review

I used to be a pretty big advocate of this website. I also used to be an extremely active player on this website. In its prime, this website was the best place to be if you were looking for a virtual pet website to play and socialize on. Unfortunately, as the years have progressed and the administration has changed – the site has gone downhill dramatically. The site was originally created to be a place for college students to have a pet when they went away to school. Unfortunately, the site has turned into a website for children since that time. 

The biggest issue with this virtual pet site is that the administration cares entirely TOO much and the rules are way TOO strict. The users of the site get banned and/or silenced for the smallest infractions. Unfortunately, there are a lot of unspoken rules on the website and the administration hand out warnings like candy for things that don’t always make sense. 

Neopets is not such a bad site if you just go on it to raise a pet, play games and participate in site events. However, the second that you start chatting and socializing on the website – the second you run the risk of getting your account in trouble. Unfortunately, it is impossible to be social on this website without getting in trouble. There are very few things you can talk about on the site without getting in trouble because the administration doesn’t like the discussion of “real world” topics. According to them, it may upset the children playing on the website. 

It is kind of sad to think about how this website used to be a place for college students to unwind and have a little fun. Now, they can’t even discuss anything that really matters to them without getting in a lot of trouble.
