Nowadays nearly everyone has cable, and for some it can get pricey, this is a guide to get entertainment without cable.
Pretty much everyone has had, or has, cable. But have you ever thought of getting rid of cable? Would it change the way you recieve media, would it even be possible for you? The answer is yes, no matter how much media you want you can get all of it from sources other than cable. You can use websites that are far less costly than cable and you can also use, ahem, not entirely legal forms of getting your media.
More and more websites are popping up that allow you to get a lot of media instantly, namely Netflix, and less known, Hulu+, both of them offer tons of movies and T.V. shows available to instantly stream. Netflix and Hulu+ are both only 8 dollars a month for quite a bit of media. From my own experience I’ve found that the media I watch is usually on Netflix, and if it’s not I’m always able to find something else that I end up loving.
Now to the less legal way of getting your media, many websites also offer free streaming, as well as the ability to download the media you want. If it’s not on Netflix or Hulu+ it’ll be somewhere on the internet. Well I’m not going to get into too much detail about this, but if you would like more info a quick google search should suffice.
So compare these forms of retrieving media to cable. In my own experience I found that I was paying 200 dollars a month for cable, while if I got both Netflix and Hulu+ (I don’t), I still wouldn’t even be paying a tenth of what I was paying for cable. Well, I hope you’ll be able to save money, doing without cable.
