Kidoz browser enables what sites, videos and mail the child receives.

Kidoz is a browser that is child proofed for your children’s safety on-line. Many worthy features such as sending email that are approved by the parents, as well as sites that are programmed by Kidoz and adding in sites that you approve; are just a few of the goodies that Kidoz enables.

To begin the process of using Kidoz you must visit the site and download the browser to your computer. You will be asked which language you prefer, as well as settings such as a pass code for the parents to use when they wish to add safe emails and sites to the browser.

The features for the child to use will rest at the bottom of the screen. Those features would be games, mail, websites, videos and places. At the top of the screen you will see hello to the child and where the parent signs in to add sites, videos and emails. On the right hand side of the screen will rest the word websites and favorites. When you click the word favorites it will lead to all the sites the child has placed into that category. They would choose the site from the picture and then the site opens up to view. At the top rests the feature button to add it to the feature category. That would place the child’s favorite sites that are programmed into the Kidoz and the ones you added, into the favorite section. At the top a little door rests to exit the browser. You will still need to monitor your child’s use if other browsers are on your computer.

 Games

When you click on the icon of games an entire list is visible with pictures of the games. You simply click on the photograph and the child is led to that game. You can not add in new games on the free version. Ice slide, the hummer party and deep freeze are just to name a few they can play. The feature of placing their favorite games into the favorites can also be done by them visiting that game and clicking on favorites.

Websites

When you click on websites a variety of screen shots from the websites will rest on the screen to view. You simply click on the photograph and the child will be taken to that particular site. When the web page opens up, at the top of the screen will rest the favorite button to place that site into the child’s favorite section to make easier for them to find their favorite sites. At the bottom of the screen you will see two arrows, one pointing up and one pointing down, the arrows on the bottom of the page would be a scroll bar to slide the page up and down to view.

Arrows rest at the top of the screen pointing left and right. Those arrows will lead the child to the previous or next web page they have been viewing. The child can also place the favorites they choose into a small garbage bin when they change their minds.

 Mail

When you joined you added your email to the account that rests in the child’s email area now. Your child simply clicks on your picture of your email and they can send you one very easily. When you child sends someone an email they will be notified in their email account and lead to a link to view what the child sent you. Once they follow that link and read the mail they can reply back as well as share the mail on Facebook or Twitter. I would strongly suggest speaking to the parents about the sharing it on either location first.  The child can choose to either type, to draw, use a stamp, or paint on the email. Certain features are locked for plus members such as more designs for the stamps. I strongly urge you to invest in this program. When the child receives mail, as soon as they open up the Kidoz browser they will be notified on the screen that a message is waiting for them. They would simply click on the mail icon and be lead to read the message that was sent by approved people only.

Videos

When the child clicks on the video icon, they will be lead to another page with pictures on the screen of videos they can watch. On the right hand side of the screen three categories exist. Channels, my videos, as well as the favorite option that enables them to choose a favorite video that they can easily access in that section. Channels would lead the child to watch the videos programmed by Kidoz that is coming in from Youtube. The icon of “My Videos” is the videos the parents have the option of adding to the browser. When they click on the video they will be taken to another screen, where the video rests in a larger format to view. To add more videos you simply use the parent control feature resting at the top of the screen, and log in to the site and follow the instructions of how to do so. Very simple to read and understand.

 Places

The feature of places enables your children to get creative by designing a room, as well as the person who is in the room. Limited choices on the free option as far as clothing, hair, accessories, furniture and the room they will be in. When you upgrade to pro, it will enable you to choose the other options. The choices with a lock on the picture (which is also on the stamps in the mail area) are the options you can not choose unless you go pro.

This program for children is absolutely amazing, and very safe to use. The features are fun and creative, and enable your children to view the Internet safely from the browser.

Managing content is very simple to do from the site such as adding videos, websites and even adding security features such as how long the child can remain on-line.

This program is added in my list of ones to be investing the money into for an upgrade. I strongly suggest the same for you, if that is an option that you can afford. Prices are not that expensive and quite manageable.
