In my three months on Triond, these are the 10 articles that have drawn the most readers.

Firearms: 10 Unusual Revolvers

By a healthy margin of hits, this has been my most-read article on Triond. I am a firearm owner, though I don’t consider myself a gun nut or anything like that, and I got the idea for this article while perusing links on StumbleUpon one night. I ran across an article about the Heckler & Koch P11, and it occurred to me it would make an interesting Triond article. Then I got to thinking about other weird handguns and revolvers I had seen or read about over the years. And then, of course, I thought that I should put them altogether into one article.

10 Candy Bars I Wish Were Sold in the United States

This has not only been a good article for me on Triond, but it is also my most-read article over at Bukisa. Actually, the truth is some of these candy bars can be found in the United States, but they are not always easy to find; it really depends upon where you live, because in larger cities it is easier to find most of these candy bars though I’ve yet to find the Happy Hippo anywhere in the U.S.

10 Graphic Novels Every Fan of Literature Must Read

I’ve been a fan of comic books and graphic novels for at least 35 years, since I was a little kid, so it was a natural for me to write up an article about some of my favorite graphic novels. I’ve often thought about doing a sequel to this article, because there are plenty of other excellent comics and graphic novels I could have mentioned.

10 Cop Movies Every Action Fan Must See

I’m a guy. I like action movies. But admittedly, some are better than others. These 10 are some of my favorites, and I thought it would be interesting to share with others and see what kind of response I get. I could have easily mentioned another 10 movies, so maybe this article is worth an update or a sequel at some point.

10 Tips for Cleaning with White Vinegar

This article surprised me because it was sort of an easy article to write quickly and I didn’t expect much from it. However, it constantly draws in new readers. From time to time I like to write sort of domestic articles about little things that can help around the house. This was one of those articles. I knew most of the information from earlier stories I had done years ago as a newspaper journalist, but a little research online also taught me a few new things. This article has done so well, I did a sort-of sequel to it, 10 Things You Might Not Know You Can Do with White Vinegar. I have thought of doing another, similar article, but I feel I’ve said about all I care to about vinegar. Maybe something about lemon juice should be next.

20 Classic Arcade Games from the Early 80s

This was an easy article for me to do. I grew up as a teen in the 80s, and I have fond memories of going to the arcades for hours and hours and plugging quarter after quarter into all these different games. I’m glad folks seemed to like this article, because I like it, too. This article was popular enough that I’ve done several sequels to it.

Six Excellent True Crime Books

I’m a writer and a reader, so this was another article that was a natural for me. I don’t read as many true crime books as I once did, but there was a time about 15 years ago when I devoured them, just tons of them. Of all the true crime books I read, these six were by far the best. Truman Capote’s “In Cold Blood” is still one of my favorite books of all time.

10 Albums Every Classic Rock Fan Should Own

I like hard rock music. That’s just how I am. So, I thought listing 10 great classic rock albums would be a good idea. Well, the article did draw a good bit of attention, but it also brought me some nasty e-mails. Apparently I upset some folks because they didn’t agree with my top 10 list. I guess it’s too much to expect other people to remain calm just because they disagree with you about something, especially something as seemingly unimportant as a list of favorite albums. My favorite e-mail was from a guy who told me I must be some kid because I didn’t know anything about music. I had a chuckle as I replied to him that, sorry, but I just turned 40.

5 Cigars that will make you look like Clint Eastwood

This article was meant to be a bit of a joke. I’m an action-movie fan, and a fan of westerns and Clint Eastwood. I also used to smoke cigars pretty often, though I cut out that habit a few years back. So, I knew a fair bit about cigars and Clint Eastwood and spaghetti westerns. I wrote this article. Again, I thought it was sort of funny. I just typed it off in a hurry without thinking much about it. However, it has drawn a pretty good readership. And in case you’re curious, my favorite cigar from the list is the Ram Rod.

5 Horror Novelists You (Probably) Haven’t Heard of … Yet

I write horror fiction, and I have read a good bit of it, too. So, again, I thought this was an easy article to write. I was glad it drew some attention because I like to help out other writers as often as possible.

An interesting look at your experiences on Triond. I think it’s something we Trionders should be aware of, so that we can put out more stuff that people seem to want to read.
It’s not just about the money, it’s about writing for a larger audience. A lot of writers start out writing for an audience of one (themselves) and never move on from that. Writing for yourself is a fine thing to do, but if your send your work to a site such as Triond, you surely want a larger audience. I know I do.
