56k internet is slow very slow it’s a dead technology and most of all its annoying! it’s time to upgrade and move on.
The era of 56K internet is over, dial up internet is now truly dead, people who still use this should really think about moving on to the broad band era, they often ask why they should choose to upgrade when what they have is fine.
The truth is 56K internet is not fine no more, for the same price as a 56K connection or even a 56K pay as you use connection you could get 512K broadband, maybe it will cost you £2 more but is it really not worth it?
With broadband as everyone knows you can have you phone line still connected, which means in coming calls will no longer kick you off the internet, that alone is a great reason to upgrade.
Next we have the speed difference 56K internet is slow, very slow, your download speeds are terrible and waiting for some web pages to load up can taker forever, you simply are wasting your life waiting, with broadband your internet is faster at least 10 times faster!
Broadband is becoming cheaper and cheaper for people to consider, not to mention with latest technology break through the speed of broadband is going through the roof you can now purchase 16MB broadband! Now that’s what you call fast.
Internet access all the time anyone? Broadband (long as its not dial up) is always on, turn on your computer and hey look the internet is open straight away, plus its great for networks it allows all the computers to have access to the internet with out worrying about the slow down of normal internet access.
The last reason is you can have wireless broadband everything you need for broadband with out the wires running all over your house, its perfect!
My advice is simple forget the past and move on, sign up for broadband and you really wont regret it.

I think this might be more a local thing. Certainly where I’m from in the UK internet access using modem dial up is still a going proposition.
If you’re moving around the UK, dial up internet access is actually far more reliable and in some cases faster than laggy and unreliable mobile broadband services like 3G. Plus there are heaps of companies that actually offer free dial up services.
Maybe it’s not quite time yet to chuck the dial up internet baby the with the bath-water.
