This article will teach you the basics of selling on craigslist and making a successful ad.
- Know your product- In order to tell potential buyers about your product, you first have to know what it is that you are selling. You also need to know the kind of condition it is in. If you put it in the right category, it will be easier to find.
- Know your price- You may have to search craigslist or eBay, but you need to find out how much that product is selling for used. Don’t try to put it at the highest amount you see, because chances are, its not going to sell. You need to know the absolute lowest price you will go to, so nobody can trick you out of your money.
- Put a lot of info down- People looking to buy something will respond more if you have a lot of info about the product, because then they don’t have to ask so many questions. Make sure you put if it works or not so you don’t get hundreds of emails saying, “does it work?”.
- Have multiple ways to be contacted- try writing email or call/text ***-***-****. Some people don’t like to talk on the phone, so they would email you. But not everyone has email, so they would call you. This way you have a way that any potential buyer can contact you.
- BE SAFE- MAKE SURE NOT TO PUT YOUR ADDRESS OR ANY PERSONAL INFORMATION ON THE AD. You probably don’t want to be put in danger just because you are trying to make a few extra bucks.
