A short guide on how to promote your content online.

There are various ways to promote your content online, but the best way by far is through social networking or social bookmarking sites. These sites, like reddit, digg or stumbleupon, are the easiest ways to get more readers for your content. Basically, you post your links and hit “like”, or “digg” or something to that affect, and it becomes part of the entire ranking and sharing system of that site. The more likes your link gets, the more popular it gets and the more publicity it gets. More publicity means more traffic, which equals more money for you off of the ads posted on your site. The more sites you post these links to the better, obviously, but I would recommend only posting your best work on these sites, as the better they are the more likely people will like it and add a hit to its ranking. While it is hard to manage more than one site like this at a time, I would recommend using at least two. The ones I found had the best results were Digg and Stumble, as they brought in around a thousand views each after a month of promoting. While your results will probably be different then mine, these sites are definitely worth checking out.
