By blocking through router it does not only block on the computer you are working on, but all computers connecting to the router being used. Note the instructions are mainly for a WRT54G Linksys Router but might the instruction might be similar to another router
- In the Internet browser type in “192.168.1.1″
- Password panel should show up normally the default user name and password are both “admin” unless you have set specific password and username which you should enter.
- You are now at your router’s setup option, on the page you should see an option called “Access Restrictions” double-click on that.
- If you look over the page you could see options, such as days that the Internet can be used, words that cannot be access in the Internet, URL blocking, etc.
- Add the website’s name in the “Website Blocking By Keyword” section
- Scroll to the bottom of the screen and click “Save Settings” and now the website should be blocked
Congratulations!!! You have blocked a website through router. To unblock just delete the name of the website from the Access Restrictions and click save settings.
