Audacity is a free recording program available on the net. It is an awesome program and I want to give it a double thumbs up.
Its basic, its free, and its a great tool to use for many reasons!
If your like me and you need something to both accommodate an occasional musical idea, and something to use to record thoughts and ideas, its a great program!
Its nothing as complex as pro tools or cake walk, but the price is right to get a clean cut of something simple.
You can google ‘Audacity’ to find free downloads for windows or mac, and they make sure to always have the latest addition available to you, as well as older versions if you need it.
The controls are easy and straight forward and you don’t have to spend an hour getting to know the system. I would recommend it especially to those who are new to the computer sound recording arena, and its a great stepping stone before you spend big bucks getting a more professional system.
