Google or Microsoft – Which is the bad one?

VS.

Hi. There may be some of you that use the Windows Live search engine. And people who use Hotmail. BUT WHAT FOR?

Google is the most advanced search engine on the net. It offers a powerful search engine, email, videos, images, translation and more!

You can search and view anything on the net with the search engine. Gmail offers over 7 gigabytes of memory, which is expanding every second! And why not check out our planet with Google Earth?

Lately, there has been a lot of controversy between Microsoft and Google. Microsoft even made it so that Hotmail would reject emails from the “google.com”domain. Microsoft even made it so that Internet Explorer runs SUPER slowly when you use Google as the search engine.

But what has Google done to Microsoft? ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! Why does Microsoft hate Google so much? Did Microsoft really do all of this because they were angry at Google for not letting them buy the company? This is a topic that many people seem to think about every day.

A few years ago, Microsoft saw Google as they do not see it now. They saw that it was growing very fast. So they seemed to think that, if they bought it, they could make even more money than they currently were. So they tried to buy it. But Google refused. That seemed to be the start of the rivalry.

Until then, Microsoft was the dominant company when it came to computers and software. But then Google started making operating systems and even made their own email program. Microsoft was NOT happy about that and seemed to decide to make people resist using the Google products and use their own products.

Then Microsoft modified their internet browser so that, like I said above, would run slower on Google than Windows Live. But that didn’t seem to be successful. Because of that, it seems, Google made their own internet browser, Google Chrome, so that users could still use Google without it being slow. And, Google Chrome runs on the same speed on any website, even anything to do with Microsoft. Can you tell now that it’s not Google doing the bullying?

As some proof, here are the times that it took for Google to load on Explorer and Chrome. These times were made using the same computer, same internet provider and same Wireless LAN device. For this example, I searched “Triond” using Google.

Internet Explorer 8: 2.741 seconds.

Google Chrome: 1.558 seconds.

Here is the time it took for Windows Live to load, again on the same computer, internet provider, and Wireless LAN device. Again, I searched “Triond”.

Internet Explorer 8: 1.648 seconds.

Google Chrome: 1.671 seconds.

As you can see, Internet Explorer takes more time to load if it uses Google. If you use Windows Live Search, they are both almost the same time.

I cannot tell you how you should believe, so I’ll leave that to you. But I don’t know whether or not we can trust Microsoft any more. It seems like they will do these kinds of things if the company they try to buy refuses to be bought. It may result in having your own favourite website being made into a rival.

There have also been reports saying things like “Internet Explorer won’t let me send my mail when I use Gmail” and things like that, and I have tried doing it. It does work, so don’t worry. It just takes forever, when Google Chrome takes like a second.

So I have to say that I’m a Google supporter. This little problem with the Internet surfers seems to have made Microsoft lose a whole bunch of customers. I think that Microsoft should fix this problem, not just to get customers, but to make people happy.
