Some of the strange things Google Earth has discovered.

I was introduced to Google Earth a few years back and was amazed by the quality and sophistication of the software used for map technology.
For those of you not familiar with Google Earth it is a software system it is a virtual earth. You can go any place you want in the world and peek in and see whats happening. If you want to visit India just type in a city there and off you go to the city you entered. You can zoom in closer to get a better look. Some places have better pictures than others but in covering such a vast area the pictures are getting clearer all the time.

What about Iraq, yes you can spy on those in the arms of war. In fact the pictures that you receive from there seem a bit better than other places and this I think is because the government is keeping tabs on the dust bowl all the time.
With covering basically the entire earth it was just a matter of time before strange or unusual sightings began to appear. I found a site called MapOfStrange which shows may of the strange and unusual sightings.
From seeing a herd of elephants roaming in Chad to crop circles it all seems to be there. The clarity of these images is uncanny.

There is even a black hole listed on the website. I tried to zoom in but the image would not let me. I am not sure if it is a black hole or what it is but go see for yourself. From writings on a beach to giant lizards you will see many things you never expected to see and some you didn’t think were possible.
Google Earth makes the world seem so much smaller than it really is, but it also makes me wonder if a satellite can see a herd of elephants roaming the plains in Africa then if they truly wanted to I am sure they could check in on any one of us humans to see what we are up to.
It is kind of scary how much big brother can see and the information he can collect if he wants to. I am not sure what will come next from satellite imagery but I’m sure it will blow us all away. I now feel like I am living in the 21st century and what I expected when I was just a child is now coming true.
Robots, space travel and now a camera from space that can look into our own back yards. I can only imagine what my grand children will have in their lives when they grow up. Who knows maybe time travel is not that far away.

When you zoom most of the way in the photos that make up Google Earth are aerial photos not satellite photos. I know someone who works for one of the companies who take those photos.

It seems Google Earth is something like Big Brother… But hey, I’m too sort of a Big Brother, seeing you all through the Shew Stone of Good Old Doctor Dee. Welcome aboard, gall! Maybe you’ll succeed in finding out who I am thanks to Google Earth?
