Google Earth allows you to view any place in the world from an aerial view. The new Google Street View allows you to see photographs from certain locations. Here are 10 places around the world that you must look at on Google Earth.

Have you ever wanted to visit other countries and exotic places around the world but never had the time or money?  Now you can visit these places and see what they look like by using Google Earth.  Google Earth is a free program available by searching for it on www.google.com

Starting Out

Before you visit the list below, make sure you have 3D Buildings, Street View and Terrain selected under the Layers box on the left.  This helps to make the images more real and life-like.

Places To Visit

Type in the exact address below to visit these places:

  1. New York City, New York - here you can view the entire island in 3D.  Someone must have spent a lot of time working on these.  You can see many of the key buildings like the Empire State Building, Chrysler Building and the United Nations Head Quarters.
  2. Rome, Italy – visit and view some of the most amazing historical places on earth as you delve through modern and ancient history.  You can look at the Colosseum, St. Peter’s Basilica and the site of the former Circus Maximus.
  3. Pyramids of Giza – the ancient pyramids of the Egyptian Pharaohs is always a curious site to visit.  Here the 3D pyramids are put into context to show how big they really are.
  4. Eiffel Tower, Paris – one of the most romantic places on earth.  Walk around and view the tower using Street View.  Explore other streets of Paris to see other interesting places within Paris – another city that has been modelled in 3D.
  5. London, England – at this location you are able to view the Big Ben clock Tower, Westminster Abby, the London Eye and Buckingham Palace.  Surprisingly, the majority of London hasn’t been modelled or is available in Street View as yet.
  6. Mount Everest – quite a natural beauty.  The whole region surrounding the worlds tallest mountain has been modelled in 3D.  The landscape and scenary here is simply breathtaking.
  7. Niagra Falls, Canada – another impressing work of nature.  From here you can see both the American and Canadan falls.  Unfortunately there is no Street View of this great location.
  8. Mount St Helens – here you can see where the volcanic eruption took away almost half the mountain and the desolate landscape it has left behind.
  9. Dimmitt, Texas – now here is something interesting.  Search for this place then zoom out a little bit and have a look at shape of the farmlands.  Looks like a giant circle puzzle.
  10. Dubai – Dubai could probably be considered as the current building capital of the world.  Some of the creations they are making are fabulous.  Take a look at the islands they have created to look like a map of the earth and several palm trees.  Simply amazing!  Don’t forget to look at the various strange designed hotels such as Jumeirah Beach, Burj Al Arab, Madinat Jumeirah – Al Qasr and Madinat Jumeirah – Mina a’ Salam.

There are so many places you can see in Google Earth.  You can literally spend hours touring the world and visiting any place you want.  New features on Google Earth allow you to view the sky and stars as well as now dive under the ocean.  What will they think of next.  Happy Exploring!
