Godaddy is one of the biggest website hosting companies.

They have a lot of products and services ready to be sold to you but they are not as good as they claim they are.

I registered a domain and bought a server with Godaddy about one year ago and so far I am still regretting it and seriously thinking about moving somewhere else.

To start with you buy a hosting with a lot of extras and promises, however they only tell you later that you cannot use these extra features and offers unless you pay more.

I do not know what their offers are right now but when it was with me I had hundreds of databases to use, however I had to pay more for them, something I thought it was included in the hosting package price. Very unfair and also a huge trust breaker…

The even more shocking features they were supposed to offer you was the Google Adwords and other free pay per clicks to your website. This is only valid if you are opening your account with them, so they get a NICE commission and you do not even know a thing about it, and only valid in the first 15 days after you purchase the hosting package. This means that the first time users who do not even know what this is and do not have enough time to make their website will not have access to the free pay per clicks credits. Now is this legal? Probably yes, but think twice before you trust Godaddy again.

When it comes to costumer support things are even worse.

I wanted to upgrade my Wordpress so I asked them to do so with the Hosting Connection. I saw the next day that the server control panel was telling me that I had the latest version already installed and upgraded. I thought “cool!”. It just so happens that the supposed new version looked exactly like the old one so I check some screenshots and I see it was still the old one even tough the control panel was telling me it had been upgraded! Can you see how they cheat on you? I login to my Wordpress control panel and it was still recommending me to upgrade it. I had to do it myself because when I emailed them asking what happened I got no support. Losers!

Finally your website hosted there will be slower than any other site hosted anywhere, even free hosts are many times faster, even wordpress.com and even blogger.com is faster than Godaddy…

If you are thinking about making a website with Godaddy as your hosting company think twice my friend!
