Today I made a rather nice discovery, although, quite surprising! I will now be forced to admit after reading an article on here on Triond by DiverseBlogger, I , after a long time actually googled myself to see what I would come up with.(LOL)
The last time I did this was about three or four years ago and until I read DiverseBloggers article, which gave me a really good giggle if I do say so, I hadn’t really thought of it. Anyways to get on with it, I discovered that one of my articles, ‘Why Gardening is Good For You’ had been quoted on ABC Action News in one of the their popular stories which was ‘Seven ways to make you happier’. My article was accredited for one of those ways.There was no copyright infringement in this case because they gave me full credit adding my name ,article and link.
What I would like to say about all of this is that if I hadn’t of googled myself I would never have known about this. Regardless to say you never know where your articles are going to get you unless you actually check!I I did also find many of them in numerous other sites I hadn’t known about so I think from now on I will be checking more often!
To wrap this thought up I would like to say that if you can envision some cheesy advertisement with the drums rolling and a high pitched voice, here goes, ‘Why not try Googling yourself today! You never do know where your name will end up!’ For some reason I can see a roll of toilet paper in this advertisement. (LOL)
On a more serious note, another issue that has arisen in my mind from this is that Triond itself has gotten massive advertising from this article, whereas it was on ABC live news in popular stories and as for my article, up to date I have only received 14 cents for it! I think for that kind of coverage it should be worth more then 14 cents and I think if anyone can bring this kind of coverage to the table for Triond they should get more then cents. I would be happy with an extra dollar!
I did write Triond about this matter and after a couple of days I have finally gotten a response, Triond’s statement was ‘No. Our revenue share program with our users is a very intricate process that can not be altered. Revenue depends entirely on the amount of views the work accumulates mixed with the type of ads that are placed next to the work.’
Well doesn’t that suck! Can’t blame a girl for trying though, sheesh the things we will do to make a extra cent around here. (LOL)

It’s not always the best writers who make money. I.F. Stone was an excellent journalist, but he didn’t make as much money as a lot of writers. (I disagree with Stone’s political philosophy, but he was an excellent critic of the American government.)
