Some people are just the way they are.
I’ve been on plently of forums, ran a few, moderated a couple, and it seems that I always run into those people that just really like to push buttons. They get a kick out of just getting others mad, especially those who originally start out as being nice, kind, and respectful.
I just need to know, why? Why is it so fun to do? I guess in some aspects I can see why it would interesting, a time killer, or maybe you just like to argue, and it comes natural to start a argument. Now, that may be all find and dandy to those users, but what about the people that are their for other reasons, maybe useful conversation?
Now, all forums have these members, many forums actually. I don’t think you will find a forum that doesn’t have one ignorant person that can’t ever say a nice thing. What is protecting the other users, that enjoy the forum, and are there for other reasons other than just to get a kick out of pushing someones’ buttons?
Recently on the Triond forum, I asked a simple question. I’m not going to link to it, or describe it. The first reply I got was something about fairy dust, and then it all went downhill from there. I blew up on the girl. Now why would I do this?
- Last time I asked a question, I got a similar response with a bad attitude and ignorance
- I have a bad temper
- This is the internet, if you want to be a jackass, why can’t I?
Well, following that comment, I was ‘jumped’ so to speak, by all of the higher ranking members of the Triond forum. Not saying that what I was saying is anything better, but it was such a long time sense I got into a flame war, I couldn’t help myself. So I let out on everyone, within a half hour I had 66 posts to my thread. Not one person was on topic about the original question.
I was called a Liar, Cheater, Comments about my Wife was brought up, and a lot more than just that. Not that I was offended, actually it was all so humurous. Everyone thought they knew what they were talking about, when really they don’t know me, or my life, or my lifestyle at all. So this just adds to the fun.
Dean was a great guy, repeatedly calling my gay, but failed to notice that my main picture is of my son, and I can tell you at 19 I didn’t adopt. Then there was the other users who thought they should jump in when they had no idea what was going on, that was great too!
All-in-All, it was fun. I can bet right now I am still getting comments and replies, or I should say insults. I guess some people just don’t have anything better to do but sit in front of a computer all day long, doing nothing but trying to become a great E-Writer, or harrasing 19 year old teenagers, depends on how you look at it.
Triond should really take a step forward and actually crack down on flamers, spammers, ect. Get all the bad weeds out of the lawn, and really clean up the forum, a lot. Hard to think there is a forum with no type of control, it’s like a world with no law, imagine that, chaos.
There was even one woman, Shelly who kept thinking that I thought she was staff, when I was speaking to someone else the entire time, seems that everyone that jumped in always thought I have a damn about them, but hey, that’s how the world works right? You always need your dead beats, and your nobodies, heh.
