Five Sites for Image Hosting

Some tips out of my own experience.

Imageshack | 7.3/10

Personally, I really don’t like this site. Uploading a 71kb pictures can take more then 15 minutes and some computers have problems showing images from this site. I don’t recommend using this site.

Tiny Pic | 8.8/10

I love this site. so self-explaining and easy to use. Image formats supported are JPG, PNG, GIF and TIF and the size limit is 250Kb. Images bigger than that automatically get re sized. Tinypic is part of photobucket image hosting. Upload is fast and simple and all you need to do is to browse for your chosen image or video and you can optionally give it a title.

Photobucket | 8.7/10

The thoughts about Photobucket are very different everywhere. Some people love it, some don’t. The most common complaint about this site is that people’s images suddenly get removed, without knowing. My suggestion is: Try it out, but make always a back-up from the images you upload there.

XS | 9.4/10

This is a superb site which has proved 100% reliable service for me. I have been using it for posting pics to forums and my own website. I only had one problem so far,but it was was resolved almost immediately.

Imagehost | 8.9/10

Image Host is a free image hosting service and file host for use on forums, blogs or personal websites. Registration isn’t required, and hot-linking images is allowed for the formats: JPG, GIF, PNG, SWF up to 1 MB, and FLV up to 10 MB.

I Hope this helped some out there =)

For me tinypic is the best choice, in the other hand, I strongly agree with you about imageshack, i don’t like that site.

Do you really want constructive criticism? I do too, so…. Here goes:
Write your articles as if it was being accepted by the New York Times. This is a how-to type of article.

Start with an introduction: what are image hosting sites used for? That sounds elementary, but some folks don’t know.

In this one, I would suggest ranking by preference. Start with the best, end with the worst. You may want to stay away from first-person references, just state the good and the bad. Or, make sure your into says this is your opinion.

End with a summary paragraph. Wrap up what you said and why it’s important.

Check your grammar. Use the right words. Don’t write ’self-explaining’ when you mean ’self-explanatory’. You wrote ‘This had proved 100% reliable service’. You want ‘provided’ instead of ‘proved’, or ‘proven to be’ instead of ‘proved’.

That’s all I see, this article has good information, it’s straightforward and useful. Just fix your format a little – make it look professional. You’d be surprised how many articles get seen just by folks searching through google or whatever. This could be one. So don’t write it to your friends. Write it like you’re getting paid for it. Does that make sense?

Here is a new image hosting site if you would like to evaluate. Free, unlimited uploads per day, nice animated gif creator, and no annoying popups.

Nice review, I use these sites quite a lot since I use them for my Gaming sigs. I would like to see an upcoming image hosting article as well. Unfortunately many of these sites are most popular just by the simple virtue of them being around longer then some of the newer sites. One site I have been using lately is http://Upload3r.com

Check it out, No ads, Large size limit, Great speed

I’ve tried a lot of those image hosting websites and I definitely like a lot of the ones mentioned. Also, I’ve used Upload3r before and I admit I like it a bit. Another website to mention (it does have ads) is http://www.imageuploadnow.com/ which has been pretty good to me.
