Now that I’ve finally got the computer all to myself, I can’t think of anything to write about. My old standby – stream of consciousness writing – usually works. I just start rambling, and my brain starts spewing out words.
School starts next week – yeah! I get the computer all to myself from 9 to 4. I hope I can think of lots of stuff to write about. I’ve been developing the procrastinator’s habit of “just checking” to see what’s happening in the forums. I should know better than that by now – the forums are a ravenous vortex, sucking in all of the good writers, keeping them from getting their own articles written.
It must be a conspiracy! I’ll bet whoever is behind the new “hot users” list is using the forums as mind control so that they can post their inferior offerings and get on the “hot content” list as well. (No offense to anyone whose name is on the hot users list or whose content is on the hot content list. I don’t begrudge you your fifteen minutes of fame.)
I wish we had a bathroom in the basement, or that we had space upstairs to put the computer. I’m really thirsty, but I don’t want to go all the way up the stairs to get some water, and then have to come back down here. I have Parkinson’s, and my body rebels at having to climb stairs. Plus I broke a bone in my foot about five or six months ago, and it isn’t healing. Could be because I was told five months ago to stay off my foot, but the computer in the basement keeps beaconing to me. And then as soon as I have limped my way down the stairs, I have to use the bathroom or get some water or something and then I have to back up the stairs.
I wrote this one in May: Stay off that foot!
Why don’t I just get a laptop computer? That’s a good question, thank you for asking. My wonderfully handy hubby borrowed one for me way back in May, but I crashed the hard drive. I didn’t think I was even driving that fast, but I guess I just got to taking corners too fast, didn’t see where I was going… or something like that… I shouldn’t have been driving anyway. I had to surrender my driver’s license two years ago because of the Parkinson’s.
Well, Munchkinette Number the Second One just got home from her shopping trip and wants to use the computer. So I guess my turn is up. Next week they go back to school and the computer will be mine from 9 to 4!
And the Munchkinette who is reading over my shoulder just reminded me that I had better use my 9 to 4 time slot, and not leave my computer stuff to do when it is their turn. I’d better go now, before Munchkinette Number the First One gets home.

An amusing read, Karen. I am so glad I have my own laptop in my room next to the bathroom and I always have a bottle of water nearby, or I would be doing what you are doing. I look forward to more writes from you during your 9 – 4 slot.
Christine

I remember the days…
Thanks for your kind thoughts.
Pam – I know you told me 5 months ago to stay off this foot. I didn’t listen, and now it hurts even more.
I would love to hire a live in housekeeper who cooks, cleans, referees the kids’ fights and gets them to do their homework and chores, and it would really help if she had some certification for massage therapy and/or physiotherapy. Basically, I need a wife.(Except that I would not share my Hubby!)
thanks for always updating us with your life. and its good you finally have your own computer… you will have more time to publish articles that we will enjoy.
