Do you want an own domain yourself or for your company? Do you need tips how to register it and how to construct a good page? This is your article, read more…

The basics.

Where did you start it? I bet you had some own sites on free sub-domains, for example myownsite.blog.com. There are problems with these, it’s easy to reach the place limits and there are some adverts on your site too. Next to these disadvantages when having company, each company have to own a good domain, for which paying is needed. This could be status-symbol.

What’s the domain and how to buy it?

Buying domains is not difficult, but the most people don’t know how to start it. There is an accredited domain registrator needed, my favorite with the best prices is LimeDomains. For one month it costs about $8.5. You can pay with credit card, PayPal, Alertpay. (Paying with Liberty Reserve account is unavailable at some sites because they suffered a hacker-attack in January).

Let’s choose thy domain!

The most interesting part of article :) . Firstly i must say, your domain have to be search-engine-friend. If the registrar needs domain, try some to check availability by these viewpoints:

- one or two keywords

- easy to remember

- separate it the URL longer than 12 characters.

First steps to set up your site.

You own a website, now just content-uploading needed; but! The most important is choosing the design and templates. Fortunately there are a lot of templates to upload, most of them has a small advert linked to bottom. Don’t let visitors go away – make it easy to navigate!

You got place, you can upload to it with FTP access. Username and password needed to do this, the registrar sent you these via e-mail if you bought the domain successfully. Log in and start uploading!

About FTP…

There is a blank/white background if you open the newly-made site. The only content is index.html or index.php going to appear. Let’s create this with notepad/HTML editor. A simply example to HTML structure:

<html><head></head><body>This is my homepage.</body></html>

Save this as index.html and upload to the root directory…

You can add visual appearing instructions between two head tags. And in body there is the content and structure needed. Most of websites has a tabled structure. Let’s choose a template or buy one, but be aware! They cost about $130 IRL.
