Online job opportunities that make you pay…
Last February 1, 2008, I resigned from my job of almost eight years. Now, I have more time for my kids. I can look after them on a 24/7 basis.
But on that five-month period, I had continually searched for greener pasture. I realized I did not graduate from college for nothing. I wanted to serve others still in the best way I can. I applied for various jobs and have used the internet every now and then in my quest to seek greater opportunities.
Just around last month, the idea of working at home crossed my mind. As I was browsing several websites for various online jobs, I found out that most of these would make you pay first before joining their member’s area. They will attract you with their money offers and how easy the job is but take note, you have to pay a fee ranging from $10 to even $99 at that just for you to become their member. Their advertisement sounds enticing. For someone who’s struggling to look for a good paying job without leaving home, the term they use is “telecommute”, the offer would really be tempting.
Honestly, I joined one. I was too desperate to help my husband with the family’s financial needs. I was hoping at least to work on something without sacrificing the fact that I have to look after the welfare of our kids. I paid $17.75 to join Paid Survey Program with their promise that I will earn around $5 to $75 a survey. Upon paying my “membership fee”, I did all the work. I thought that when I became a member of said program, I would be sent simple surveys for me to answer. What happened is I still had to register in various companies so that I may be legit to take their surveys. Well, wanting to earn, I joined several of the listed companies. In the long run, I realized, I was the one being surveyed already. Isn’t that too disgusting?
I learned my lesson from that. I will never join any group that would offer an easy job but will let you pay for it in return. I believe that job opportunities are supposed to be free or should it be with a fee, at least they will not leave you hanging in the air. If they really want to help, they should not run away from you after you have paid them.
