To draw attention to your content, your email needs Visual anchors. The choice of visual anchor depends on your e-mail template layout. There are some visual anchor that can draw attention to your content:
Headline
By themselves, headline will attract attention. Put the content immediately below the headline. Headline will be more effective when you apply different font, color, or style of text. This may come in the format of Block (appear in front of a background color different from the main background color), Bold (appear darker or heavier than the surrounding text), Border (appear inside a boxed outline), or Graphic (images of text with special design elements).
Images and graphics
Images and graphics will differentiate your email. Use them with adjacent text either to the left, right, or below the image.
Image can be put in several orientation such as Portrait (taller than wide), Landscaped (wider than tall), Top-bar (appear at the top of an e-mail and span the entire width of the page), Background (appear behind text), and Bordered. Whichever orientation you choose, images and graphics will do you good.
Text links
Links has special power to draw attention. Surrounded by the text, stand-alone links will draw attention to themselves.
Some link examples are : Stand-alone (apart from the text in a paragraph), Content (part of the text in a paragraph), and Grouped (appear as lists).
Lines and borders
Each type of line and borders has different power to draw attention. Several examples of line and border are : Horizontal (divide content into top and bottom), Vertical (divide content left and right), and Boxed (divide the content contained in the box from surrounding content). Horizontal lines and borders draw attention to content above the line or border. Vertical lines and borders draw attention to content on the left or right depending on the strength of the visual anchors on either side of the line or border. Boxed borders draw attention to the content within the boxed border beginning with the upper left of the box.
