AIM Triton is an updated version of the AIM client (since then called “AIM Classic” or “AIM 5″) which includes features of popular plugins for earlier versions as login messages in tabs, and other AOL services, and greater integration between the functions of email and video conferencing.
For the first time in its history, AOL opened to end users the ability to test a product in development and help you correct any problems (bugs). On September 29, 2006, the version was renamed to AIM Triton 6, and had its final version (non-beta) released on December 15.
One of the biggest news presented together with the version 6.0 was the opening part of the program for independent developers [3], allowing plugins to be developed or programs compatible for both Windows and Linux and Mac OS X – platforms without an updated program.
